25th Anniversary

We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary on July 23rd. We are now back to where we started--at home, just the two of us. But even though we are now empty nesters, we are still involved in our children's lives as they encounter life's ups and downs. To keep our phone bill down, we decided to sign up again with Sprint mobile cell phone service, since all the kids are a long distance phone call away.

We drove Sarah down to Texas A&M University on August 21st where she is studying architecture. You can see many pictures of her design projects on her blog by using the link to her blog on the right.

Here in Texas, we had the fifth hottest summer on record and are 30+ inches down in rainfall for the past 18 months. Our city is on level three water restrictions which means we can only water one day a week. Unbelievably, our tomato plants produced tomatoes all summer long in 100-degree plus weather. However, the tomatoes got smaller and smaller until they became the size of cherry tomatoes by August.
We expect to be in the high 80s next week.

Amanda had snow in Michigan last week. Click on Amanda's link to learn more about her.

Michael and Meghan have visited us a few times recently as they are planning to marry in Dallas next June.

Rick is busy this year now that he is teaching Algebra as well as 8th Grade Math. What makes it difficult is that the class has 33 students with 25 13-year-old boys.

Rebecca is still enjoying her work at the library.
