Zooing

As Rick was driving to a teachers' conference in San Antonio a couple of weeks ago, he stopped in Waco and decided to visit Cameron Park Zoo. He came home with a Grandparents' Zoo Pass. So we determined to put the pass to good use by going to Dallas Zoo yesterday. Luckily, the rain held off until we were leaving. Then we went out for lunch at Sarah's favorite restaurant--Italian Villa.

Utah and fireworks

Rick went to Utah to visit his family July 2-10. While he was there he and his dad went to the Family History Center in Salt Lake City to do genealogy work. He spent the 4th of July in Hyrum at the Crookston Family Reunion, and got to attend the mission farewell of his nephew Jacob Elmer who is going on a mission to Australia.

Sarah and Rebecca had to stay in Texas for school and work , but the rain, which had come down daily for weeks, stopped just long enough for us to see the fireworks in Plano. And it wouldn't be 4th of July without Sarah's famous apple pie.

Michael & Meghan's Wedding

Michael Aaron Crookston and Meghan Odelia Miller were married on June 16, 2007 at the Renaissance Hotel in Dallas. Meghan was a beautiful bride. There was a lovely dinner and reception afterward for family and close friends. The food was delicious. We're so happy for the new couple and to have Meghan as our daughter.

Amanda, Katsu and Andrew were able to come for the wedding. Katsu blessed Andrew in our ward the following day with the Crookstons, Clarks, and Elmers in attendance. The Crookstons and Elmers had to leave for the airport in pouring rain shortly after the service. The Clarks and Katsu left the next day, Monday, but Amanda and Andrew got to stay for another week and a half. It was fun to get to spend more time with them and give Amanda a break now and then.
